Tucson is in Arizona, in the Southwest, where the desert climate brings very hot summers, mild sunny winters and the summer monsoon; outdoor businesses shift their hours toward early mornings and evenings in the hottest months. Getting around Tucson is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Great place to go for some beautiful nature, shady pathways and lots of succulents and cacti. So many varieties, I took so many pictures. The staff were nice and helped with questions. We also found the gardens resident cat who was cute and friendly. When we arrived the butterfly exhibit was closed, this was the reason I chose to visit. No notes on the website about the closure.. reccomend to call in to find out before visiting if butterflies are your thing. Lots of wildlife, birds, lizards. Really fun time at this place!

Tucson has so much to offer! After 5 years I finally visited and it was delightful! There are locals that volunteer as staff and provide insight about the gardens while walking. I was in awe and the beautiful creation and how life grows in the desert. One of my favorite stops was the train and its historical towns as it moved along the track. The butterfly exhibit was unreal, the fly around and land right in front of you or on you! The colors were vibrant and stunning. Succulents galore! A new exhibt to honor Frida Kahlo and the blue house was mesmerizing!

Amazing place! Lots of different gardens to explore. Really enjoyed the model railroad and Tuscan garden. The staff members all seemed helpful and knowledgeable about their areas. The butterfly pavilion is smaller than others I've been to and didn't have as many species, but still worth a visit.

We visited recently and had a really enjoyable time. Itβs a well-maintained garden thatβs easy to walk through and offers a nice mix of different areas to explore. The butterfly exhibit was one of the highlights and definitely worth checking out. The train display was also a fun and unique touch, and the variety of succulents throughout the garden was especially nice to see. Overall, it was a relaxing and pleasant visit. A good place to stop if youβre in the area and looking for something calm to do.

Thoroughly enjoyed this garden! Lovely layout of paths and a nice variety of cacti. At a leisurely pace we were able to view the exhibits in four hours. The cafe within the gardens was a perfect spot for a delicious lunch. Butterfly garden, train exhibit, art and quilt exhibits. I recommend this garden!
